Got X-Rayed Wednesday afternoon. Nothing broken; just a bad sprain. The doctor gave me some exercises to do, told me to alternate heat and ice, and prescribed an anti-inflammatory. She said to start putting weight on it as soon as possible, to keep it from being weak.

I've been pretty good, and have been gradually gaining movement throughout the day. I started out using both crutches to gingerly put weight on the foot. Later I just used one crutch. By 5:00, I'm able to limp fairly well without needing either of them.

I should be able to stand or maybe even dance tonight after all. There's a costume dance at MSC that +Kyle and I have been excited about for weeks now. I was worried that my foot would be broken, but it looks like things will be okay. :)

If a bicycle tries to occupy the same space as an oncoming motor vehicle, calamity will occur.

My bicycle was struck by a police car last night, unfortunately while I was on it.

I was traveling west with traffic. He was coming east, and slowing to turn the vehicle into a parking lot, only going about 2-5 MPH. I was going pretty fast, as the road has a downhill slope. About the time I realized he wasn't going to stop, but was instead continuing to turn, I veered to the right to try to avoid impact. I almost made it, but his bumper clipped my back tire. I went down pretty hard, and have definitely sprained my left ankle. They had me give a statement and talk to Chief Hicks.

Really, I felt worse for Sergeant Cook, who hit me - he was beside himself over it, and couldn't/wouldn't stop apologizing. This is potentially his career on the line.

I denied medical attention last night (stupid!), but the Chief and Assistant Chief both told me that if I had any problems over the next few days to call them and they'll take me to get checked out, and pay for everything. I'm going to call after work, because I can't put any weight on it today, and it's swelled very badly. I don't think anything's seriously broken, but there may be a small fracture in there somewhere. I've never broken anything, but have had 3 hairline fractures over time.

I probably should go now, but we do have a paper to get out, and I don't know how long this will all take.

So there's my adventure. I even got to ride in a police car, because they wouldn't let me bike home. LOL

idiots across the street have had their music up all night again. The neighbor on our left called the police around 4:45, and naturally the guy turned his music up again after the cop left. So I called about 5:20, thanked them for coming by once already, and told them we just couldn't live like this. They sent 3 cars this time. The guy's music is still audible, but quieter than it was.

Someone was supposed to come to my door so I could sign a complaint, but they never did...ah well; guess I'll go to the station Tuesday.
