My Notes on Politics for the Next 4 Years

(Here is what I posted on Facebook yesterday to combat all the crap I'm already sick of hearing, less than 2 months in.)
This should about sum up everything I have to say until the next election.
For everyone complaining about the current political reign, guess what? He's in. Get used to it. You don't have to like it, but constantly whining about his decisions isn't going to change them.
I challenge you to re-channel your angry energy. If you must complain, complain where it matters, where it will do some actual good...to your political leaders, and more importantly, to the highest power of all: God. Solomon said there is nothing new under the sun, and it is as true today as it was then. There is nothing wrong with blogging or witty one-liners...but don't let that be your only outlet.
If any good can come of the current political regime, it is that people turn to God when everything else they believe in crashes down around them, and that includes political beliefs. It's been that way since the Israelites first escaped Egypt, and even before that.
Pray for your leaders. Pray for your fellow Americans, that they will find the most REAL thing of all, salvation, during this time of alleged crisis, economic downturn, and uncertain future. Pray for your churches, that they will have the resources, willingness and love to take in the hundreds of souls that pound down their doors looking for something they don't yet fully understand. Pray for the people of the world whom we have upset during the last political terror, that they will find forgiveness and aid in their hearts when we must turn to them for help. And pray for yourself, to have peace in this difficult time.
See you in 2012.
